Therapist / Therapy Aide (PTA)

Position

• To create therapy programs, carry out and conduct group therapy exercise programs in conjunction with the Lifestyle Co-ordinator and where appropriate encourage physiotherapy.
• To deliver and monitor exercise programs for resident mobility strength and balance, and maintain records to monitor the effectiveness of each programme
• To have a positive impact on the physical well being of our residents, with positive outcome patterns and quantifiable/measurable improvements in health outcomes

Key Qualifications:

• Cert III/IV (NRT), Cert IV (Allied Health) or Cert III in (Health Services Assistance)
• Cert III/IV (Aged Care) would be a plus. Other in-house training will also be considered

Key Experience/Skills:

• At least 2 years experience within Aged Care as Therapy Aide or at least 2 years experience in Aged Care as AIN plus 1 year experience as Therapy Aide
• Ability to understand and react responsively to resident centered care
• Ability to work as a team member to achieve organisational goals and effectively problem solve
• Sound written and oral communication skills fluent in both written and spoken English
• Demonstrated commitment towards professional development and maintenance of mandatory
