Search Vs Advertising – Where do we Find Candidates?


With LinkedIn, Indeed, Seek and Recruiter and Company databases, there are now multiple places candidate’s data is stored.

As such, to find the best available candidates, now more than ever “searching” rather than advertising is becoming more and more important.

Frontline Recruitment Group regularly tracks this trend away from advertising and to search.

Frontline does this by looking at the placements it has made in the previous year and charting whether the candidates they placed had responded to an advertisement, or whether the candidates were approached for a role after recording their data and indicating they were looking for a role in one of the databases listed above.

Since 2012, there has been a definite trend to candidates expecting to be “found” as opposed to the traditional replying to an advertisement. As the larger candidate databases grow and grow, we expect this trend to continue for the foreseeable future.
