Health jobs that are so hot right now

If you’re a registered nurse (RN) looking for a new challenge, why not consider upskilling to become a nurse practitioner? There’s great demand for these healthcare professionals in both Australia and NZ – especially if you’re open to working in rural or remote locations where there may be a limited supply of doctors or other medical specialists.

Nurse practitioners typically have advanced education and clinical training, enabling them to practice beyond the level of a RN. You need a master’s degree and post-grad certificate in a specialty area – and you must be endorsed by the Nurse and Midwives Board of Australia.

Other healthcare jobs tipped to be in high demand are hygiene specialists, who’d work with businesses on best practice and also help identify health threats before they spread.

The IT jobs growing in popularity

Our research shows that jobs in the data science field will continue to be super competitive in 2023. Salaries are decent and with the right training, there are a number of different areas you can specialise in.

Other IT jobs that’ll be in hot demand in 2023 include machine learning engineers, which companies are going to need more and more as automation and AI become front and centre. For these types of jobs, you’ll need skills in data modelling, different programming languages and artificial intelligence algorithms.

And of course, network security IT jobs are also on the rise, given the rise in cybercrimes.

Snap up these great construction jobs

It’s no secret that the construction industry is booming – with some research suggesting there may be more than 100,000 unfilled jobs in the sector in 2023. That gives you great leverage as a job-seeker to pick and choose who you want to work for.

So what are the most in-demand jobs across construction? Recruitment specialists will tell you that demand in Australia is generally for labourers, bricklayers, plasterers, plumbers, electricians, stonemasons, construction managers and estimators.
